OEKO-TEX 100 - class 1 (Applies to ALL our collections) Chemicals are absorbed by the body directly through the skin which is why it makes sense to have textiles such as bath towels and robes (which have such enormous contact with our skin) tested for the presence of harmful chemicals. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. The standard was introduced in 1992 and is the world’s leading label for textiles screened for harmful substances. Products awarded this mark have been optimised for human ecology and tested and certified by internationally recognised textile institutions. The test samples are tested for their PH value, formaldehyde content, the presence of pesticides, heavy metals, chlorinated organic carriers and preservatives such as pentachlorophenol and tetrachlorophenol. The tests also include checks for any MAC amines in azo dyestuffs and allergy inducing dyestuffs. The Oeko-Tex label is not only a recognised benchmark for the consumer, it also serves as an additional quality assurance tool for the manufacturer. The concept has become established as a safety standard throughout the textile manufacturing chain and enables checks to be made for any harmful substances at each stage of the production process. Textiles bearing this label are good for your wellbeing! |

ISO 14001 (Applies to ALL our collections) The ISO 14000 series of Environmental Management Standards exist to help organisations minimise how their operations negatively affect the environment (cause adverse changes to air, water or land), comply with applicable laws, regulations and other environmentally orientated requirements, and continually improve on the above. ISO14001 is the standard against which organisations are assessed. It is generic and flexible enough to apply to any organisation producing any product or service, anywhere in the world. The ISO14001 standard pertains to the Environmental Management System (EMS) of the process rather than to the product itself. |
